US Women Sweep World Cup Halfpipe in Italy
Kelly Clark, Hannah Teter and Gretchen Bleiler returned to the site of the 2006 Winter Olympics halfpipe competition for a FIS World Cup Event. This time the results were a little different. Clark took first, followed by Teter and Bleiler.
“For me personally it’s a good feeling to win where I was defeated three years ago," Clark said. "Hannah was riding very strong but I just did my run as I wanted it. I’m glad that I won this great event and that the U.S. took one, two and three."
Clark's winning run was a frontside air, backside 5, frontside 7, cab 7 and frontside 5.
The next World Cup event will at the 2010 Olympic venue at Cypress Mountain outside of Vancouver.
