Leg burn
Hi all.
I'm after a bit of advice regarding leg burn while snowboarding. I've been riding for around 7/8 years and I'm in pretty good shape. Pre season I concertrate on working my legs and core ready for the slopes but no matter what I still get the dreaded leg burn on my thights. I'm starting to wonder if it's my stance as I ride duck. I do this as I occassionaly ride switch to ease the pain but I thinking my stnace isn't helping as it's quite wide too. Does anyone else have this problem? Any tips? Thanks!
There's rumors out there that if you decrease your angles a bit, closer to 0 (maybe 7-8 rather than 15-16), that it allows for more hip rotation and movability. I haven't tried it yet but I plan to. I guess it's super wierd at first but after a few days of getting used to it, you suddenly have much more ease in turns/spins. Something to try! Let me know how it goes!
It always takes me at least 4-5 days of riding to get my legs working again...so far got 55 days of skiing and 1 day riding this winter. Idk where you ride nor style but in our PNW wet and heavy conditions leg burn just happens. Yes, perhaps try narrowing your stance a couple to 5 cms. Only other thing is if you don't get to ride much or frequently it might just be a technique efficiency thing. Also, my dad has started using calf compression sleeves/socks and swears that they work well...apparently ultra marathoners and the like are using them.
