The Art of Flight World Premiere [PHOTOS]
Last night some of the biggest names in snowboarding descended on NYC for the Art of Flight world premiere. Riders like Jeremy Jones, Iouri Podladtchikov (aka IPod), John Jackson, Nicolas Müller, Pat Moore, DCP, Torah Bright, Aimee Fuller and, of course, Travis Rice just to name a few. We were lucky enough to score a coveted ticket to the premiere. Even non-snowboarders have been buzzing about this film, and as filmmaker Curt Morgan told the audience, we would be the first people in the world to see it.
The Art of Flight was one of the best snowboard movies I've ever seen. The Art of Flight takes Rice's last film "That's It, That's All" and turns it up to eleven. Certainly no other movie combines epic riding with such incredibly artistic filmmaking. And the riding is intense. From crazy descents in Alaska, erupting volcanos in Chile, avalanches in BC, trimming trees in Jackson, and crazy lines in Revelstoke the movie is non-stop breathtaking action.
All of the riders, which include Travis Rice, Nicolas Müller, Mark Landvik, Jake Blauvelt, the Mitrani brothers, Pat Moore, DCP, Scotty Lago, Eero Niemela, John Jackson, and Jeremy Jones, are amazing. However it's always Travis Rice's show. Jeremy Jones, one of the most respected big mountain riders ever, says in the movie that Rice's riding is the best snowboarding he's ever seen.
If you can't wait for the World Tour to hit your area, you can download the film today on iTunes.
